3 Days Serengeti & Ngorongoro (Group Joining Safari)
This 3-day group joining safari is designed for travelers who want maximum wildlife in a short time while keeping the experience smooth, social, and well organized. Starting from Arusha, you travel straight into the world-famous Serengeti for big-cat territory and wide-open plains, then continue to the Ngorongoro highlands for an early descent into the Crater—one of Africa’s most wildlife-dense natural amphitheaters. The itinerary balances long-distance transfers with the best viewing windows, using an experienced guide, a shared 4x4 safari vehicle, and carefully chosen camps close to key ecosystems.
You spend your first night at Serengeti Heritage Camp, positioned to access prime game-drive routes across the central plains. On day two, you enjoy a half-day Serengeti drive before heading toward Ngorongoro, arriving in time to settle at Ngorongoro Wild Camp or Ngorongoro Safari Lodge. The final day focuses on a full Crater game drive where you can spot lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, zebra, hyena, and—luck permitting—black rhino, before returning to Arusha the same evening.
This is a true group joining safari: daily departures, a friendly shared atmosphere, and a maximum of six guests per jeep for comfortable viewing. Pickup is available from Arusha town or your lodge in Arusha, with drop-off back in Arusha town or Arusha Airport. Day 1: Arusha to Serengeti National Park – Overnight at Serengeti Heritage Camp
Your safari begins with morning pickup from Arusha town or your Arusha lodge, followed by a scenic drive toward the Serengeti. You travel through the Ngorongoro highlands and into the vast Serengeti ecosystem, where the landscape opens into endless grasslands dotted with kopjes and acacia. After entering the park, you begin game viewing en-route, scanning for lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffe, and large herds of zebra and wildebeest moving across the plains.
Arrive at Serengeti Heritage Camp for dinner and overnight, with the sounds of the wild surrounding you under the African sky.
Day 2: Half-Day Serengeti Game Drive – Transfer to Ngorongoro Highlands
After breakfast, continue with a morning game drive in the Serengeti while wildlife is still active and the light is excellent for photography. Your guide focuses on key predator zones and river lines where sightings are frequent, then you begin the journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, you enjoy changing scenery as you climb from the plains to cooler highland viewpoints.
In the late afternoon, you check in at Ngorongoro Wild Camp or Ngorongoro Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight, preparing for an early Crater descent the next morning.
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive – Return to Arusha (Town or Airport)
Today is dedicated to one of Tanzania’s most iconic wildlife destinations: the Ngorongoro Crater. You descend early to maximize sightings, exploring grasslands, acacia woodland, lakes, and swamps within the caldera. The Crater is renowned for its high density of wildlife, offering excellent chances to see lions, buffalo, elephant, hyena, hippo, and diverse birdlife, with the possibility of spotting black rhino in the open plains.
After a picnic lunch inside the Crater, you ascend and drive back to Arusha for drop-off at Arusha town or Arusha Airport, concluding your 3-day group joining safari.
